Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes specific wave lengths of light to make contact with tissues to help accelerate the healing process. Laser light is delivered through a hand piece to treat any affected areas of the body. Your pet will only feel a gentle soothing warmth when receiving the treatment. The laser can be used to treat a mixture of wounds, dermatological problems, injuries, pain, fractures, neurological conditions, and inflammation. Routine Exams and Vaccines:
Yearly wellness exams and vaccinations are part of caring for the life of your furry best friend. We offer many services for our canine friends including an annual screening for Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis as well as the required core vaccinations of DHPP (distemper combination) and Rabies. Each vaccine that we do is tailored specifically to your pet and their lifestyle. We offer other vaccines such as Bordetella (required for boarding and grooming) Influenza (required for dog shows, and some boarding/play group facilities) Lyme (transmitted by ticks) and Leptosporosis (a disease carried in the urine of wild animals)
Our Feline friends will receive the required core vaccinations of FVRCP (distemper combination) and Purevax Rabies (the safest rabies vaccine on the market for cats). Outdoor kitties should receive the Purevax Leukemia vaccine to protect them from the virus when interacting with stray cats.
Do you have a question about vaccines or wish to talk with us about a tailored vaccine schedule? Call or email us today and we'd be glad to get your pet in for an appointment to make sure that they are healthy and happy!
Having trouble training your dog? Is your cat misbehaving or being naughty? Come in and and schedule a behavioral consult with either our tech Heather or Dr. Becker! With every consult they will help you with tips and tricks to help you train your pet and cut out any bad tendencies that they may have with positive reinforcement.
Acupuncture / Chinese Medicine (Only Done with Dr. Nicole Sczypiorski)
Acupuncture is the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to produce an effect. It works primarily through the nervous system and can treat a variety of conditions including: musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, or traumatic nerve injury, gastrointestinal issues, some neurological problems, respiratory and skin conditions, and others. It is virtually painless for most patients, though some may experience a unique sensation when the needles are placed (tingling, warmth, numbness). For pets that do not tolerate acupuncture itself, there are several other options that fall under the category of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine that we offer here at FPC. Depending on the condition being treated, your pet may require up to 4-6 treatments to start to see significant improvements. We offer a package deal of 4 treatments if your pet requires multiple or maintenance treatments over time. Call today to schedule a consultation appointment to see if your pet would benefit!
Your pet is an important part of your family, and when he or she is not feeling well, you want the best medical care available!
The veterinarians and staff at Family Pet Clinic are ready to provide your pet with cutting edge veterinary medicine. From wellness exams and vaccines to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical procedures, your dog or cat will receive high quality care at our hospital for their entire life. In addition to routine medical care, we also offer many alternative therapies, such as acupuncture, laser therapy and behavioral health.
Here at Family Pet Clinic, we have the ability to check bloodwork and radiographs in our offices. This means we can get the answers you need for your pets diagnosis quickly. We have state of the art blood machines to check important values such as your pet's red and white blood cells, platelets, liver and kidney values, and blood glucose levels. Our laboratory equipment also gives us the opportunity to check in-house fecal samples and urine. Last but not least, we have excellent digital X-Ray units which limit the exposure of radiation on both the pet and the operator. A set of radiographs can give us a lot of information and can be very helpful in diagnosing your pets, especially those that like to eat things they're not suppose to! After our doctors read radiographs they are submitted to a radiology specialist to read and confirm diagnoses.

We are more than happy to offer estimates on any procedure your fluffy family member might have with us.
